Shanghai Dumpling or A Taste of Shanghai

Xiǎolóngbāo (literally “little basket bun also known as soup dumpling) is a popular dinner staple in Shanghai. These buns usually have a meat and soup filling and are traditionally steamed in bamboo baskets.

A local hidden gem of a restaurant is the Shanghainese “The Place Restaurant”, located on 8028 Granville Street (cross street 64th Street). At this small family run restaurant you can get a delicious dish of 6 Xiaolongbao and a beef brisket noodle soup for under $12. Eat in or take it to go for a night of yummy Shanghai comfort food.
